Congress corporator Siddharth Dhende donated his monthly honorarium to repair the furniture damaged in Monday’s incident on the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) premises. He also took moral responsibility for the vandalism caused by his colleagues from other parties.
Elected members from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena had broken the furniture and disrupted the general body meeting in protest against the shifting of Dadoji Konddev’s statue from Lal Mahal.
Dhende said, “I have written to the municipal commissioner urging him to deposit my honorarium for December (Rs6,500)
towards the repair.”
