A 35-year-old IT engineer allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself early morning in Wakad area on Monday. According to police, he was a divorcee and it is suspected that he might have taken the drastic step out of depression.
The deceased has been identified as Anand Yadav and he was residing with his brother at Rhythm society in Wakad. The incident came to light at on Monday morning when, according to police, his brother found his body inside the bathroom of their flat. Anand was working with a Yerwada-based IT company.
The police said it has recovered a suicide note from the spot, where he has written that no one should be held responsible for his suicide. Sub inspector Sangita Gode of Wakad police station said, "His brother has given a statement that Anand had gone to Mumbai on Friday for his office work and he returned home on Sunday. Today morning, his brother was knocking on the door of his room but there was no response from inside. When he finally broke the door open and entered inside, he found Anand's body lying in the pool of blood inside the bathroom."
Anand's brother has informed police that he was a divorcee and was under depression since last few months. "Though he has not mentioned any reason in the suicide note, we suspect that he might have committed suicide because of depression," said Gode.
Police suspect that Anand used his father's pistol to commit suicide. However, they are now investigating why his brother did not hear any sound of fire of a bullet when Anand allegedly committed suicide. "We are now nvestigating to find out from where he obtained the fire arm and other details," the police officer said.
