Pregnant woman killed, cops suspect kin
According to the police, Nikhat Shaikh, a resident of Naseem Apartment at Dange wadi of Nallasopara west, had a marital dispute with her husband Nadeem.
On Monday, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was found dead inside her Nallasopara residence. The prime suspect is the victim's brother-in-law and the prima facie police claimed that the woman was murdered due to a marital discord with her husband.
According to the police, Nikhat Shaikh, a resident of Naseem Apartment at Dange wadi of Nallasopara west, had a marital dispute with her husband Nadeem. On Monday, Salman Shaikh, the victim's brother-in-law allegedly entered the residence and slashed her face and body parts with a sharp weapon. The accused fled from the residence and is now absconding.
"We had earlier complained to the police against the in-laws for harassing my sister," said Mohsin, brother of the victim.
Datta Totewad, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said, "We have registered a case of murder against the suspect and we will nab him soon."
