It has been a month since the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) started STAR GRADE app to track and fix city potholes. With the help of the app around 258 potholes were reported, in which 77 turned out to be fake, while 35 complaints were irrelevant. The TMC has said around 98 potholes have been fixed so far.

Of the many Thanekars who have downloaded the app, a few are finding it difficult to operate as they have reported of technical glitches.

Sanket Ahire, a resident from Vartak Nagar, said, "I was trying to upload photographs, but there was some error in the location. Thus, the photograph could not be uploaded. I complained to the authorities and they said they would solve the problem."

The civic officials said they have noted the problem and are working to resolve the problem. "I am using the app and have sent uploaded several photographs, among which a few have been fixed while many have been not," said another resident.

If TMC's data is to be believed, then Naupada tops the chart with maximum complaints followed by Mumbra and Majiwada-Manpada.

Sandeep Malvi, TMC PRO, said, "Relevant complaints of potholes are being attended to on priority basis and appropriate action is being taken."Data from July till dateWard name Total Fake Irrelevant Pothole fixedMajiwada-Manpada 33 8 17 3Vartak Nagar 14 0 4 3LokmanyaSavarkar Nagar 28 4 1 17Raila Devi 18 3 1 9Wagle Estate 19 3 1 9Uthalsar 10 2 1 6Naupada 70 38 5 17Kopri 13 4 2 3Kalwa 19 10 0 7Mumbra 34 5 3 27Total 258 77 35 98
