Last year he picked up the Ruth Richson award for his outstanding pastel portraiture, but that’s just one of the many feathers in artist Parag Borse’s cap. The JJ art college alumni has been generating rave reviews for his life-like images that have catapulted him into the world list of top 100 water colourists. The 33-year old whose works find pride of place in the collections of the city’s rich and powerful is now returning after a year long break to exhibit his latest works at Jehangir Art Gallery — it opens on Thursday. Talking of Jehangir, we were surprised to see Dilip Vengsarkar patiently browsing the gallery on Sunday at an exhibition hosted by a certain Mohan Jadhav. Turns out that Jadhav is not only a very capable water colourist, his day job is coaching at Vengsarkar’s cricket academy in Pune. This exhibition is on for another two days – catch it if you can.
