The richest and the poorest candidates contesting the Lok Sabha polls in Mumbai are women, till now.

BJP's Poonam Mahajan, with assets worth Rs108 crore, tops the list while AAP's Medha Patkar is the poorest with assets worth Rs2 lakh. Both filed their nominations on Thursday.

While Mahajan will contest from Mumbai North Central, Patkar will contest from Mumbai North East parliamentary seats.

Even Independent candidates, including a sub post master and a tour operator, have more assets than Patkar. She has eight cases related to protests and rallies pending against her in various courts.

Mahajan's nomination has made her rival and sitting MP Priya Dutt the second richest candidate now with asests worth Rs65 crore. Third in the row is AAP candidate from Mumbai South constituency Meera Sanyal with assets worth Rs50 crore.

The fourth richest is Gurudas Kamat, Congress MP from Mumbai North West, with assets worth Rs48 crore.

Nominations can be filed till April 5
