In a rejoinder to Raj Thackeray’s criticism, election commissioner Neela Satyanarayan has said that she has the answers to any questions brought up by him.

She also reiterated that aggrieved parties or leaders were free to move court against the commission.

Objecting to the state election’s  decision to give deputy CM Ajit Pawar a clean chit on his alleged violation of the code of conduct a few days ago, Thackeray had inquired if other political leaders would get the same preferential treatment. 

“The decision was taken very cautiously, and after taking all circumstances into account. The motive behind the act in question was also taken into consideration. The commission is a constitutional body, and I am here to protect its sanctity,” said Satyanarayan.
