Minister of Finance, Planning and Forests of Maharashtra Sudhir Mungantiwar spelt out his big plans for environmental conservation in the state during his visit to the DNA office for 'Newsmakers' interaction on Wednesday. He told DNA that the state will soon devise a unique scheme to make car owners more responsive towards the environment.

He also added that the state also plans to device an app which will give each individual an understanding of how much carbon credits the person is generating and how responsible he/she is towards the environment.

"The app will enter data like how much air-conditioners you are using, how many vehicles you are using and basis your carbon credits will tell you your carbon footprint and will advise you on how much trees you should ideally plant," explained Mungantiwar. The Minister also explained that he will meet the Environment minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi soon and the state is expected to get a big fund in its kitty to conserve forests.
