The civic body recently decided to collect the e-waste separately, in association with private organisations, rather than allowing the hazardous material to be dumped at the Moshi garbage depot.

About 8,000 tons of e-waste is generated in the Pimpri-Chinchwad industrial hub. The civic body will ensure that the e-waste generated such as old computers, cables and other items are collected. A mobile van will be deployed to collect the e-waste, which will be inaugurated by mayor Yogesh Behl on Sunday. The civic employees will collect the e-waste twice a week, bring it to the PCMC godown and then segregate it.
