The civic administration has proposed to carry out a survey for the project at a cost of Rs5.75 lakh. The proposal tabled before the standing committee will come up for discussion on May 18. The PCMC had started laying the water pipeline from Manjula Park in Pimpri to Pimple Gurav. Recently, a bracket was installed to carry out the pipeline laying work over the Pimpri-Pimple Saudagar Bridge but the existing bridge is very narrow.

Following this PCMC city engineer Eknath Ugile instructed to construct a separate bridge to lay the pipeline parallel to the Pimpri-Pimple Saudagar Bridge. PCMC commissioner Ashish Sharma gave his consent for constructing the new bridge. Accordingly, the civic administration engaged a private firm that prepared a draft plan of the project  on March 24. The firm has said in its draft plan that the project would cost about Rs2.5 crore.
