Home minister RR Patil on Monday criticised the opposition in the legislative council for boycotting the proceedings of the upper house, terming it as ‘political move’.
“Nothing has happened in this house to boycott it. The disruption during the Budget speech and related developments happened in the lower house and there was no reason for boycott here. The government is ready talk and that a large amount of public money is spent on the Budget session,” he said.
The issue was raised by MLC Kapil Patil who said the work without the opposition is not as per democracy norms. Chairman of the legislative council Shivajirao Deshmukh said that the legislature was a temple of democracy and that it functioned in coordination between the ruling and opposition members.
