One killed, 3 hurt as truck turns turtle in Pune
A 22-year-old labourer, Kundlik Mukane, was killed and three others, including a truck driver, sustained serious injuries when a truck carrying soil turned turtle in front of Indira College in Wakad.
A 22-year-old labourer, Kundlik Mukane, was killed and three others, including a truck driver, sustained serious injuries when a truck carrying soil turned turtle in front of Indira College in Wakad.
The injured have been identified as Dadasaheb Maruti Padwale, 25, of Ursari, Solapur; Pintu Waghmare and Dadaji Nikam. According to the police, Mukane was a resident of Gahunje.
On Friday morning, Mukane, Waghmare and Nikam were travelling in the truck driven by Padwale.
When the truck came in front of Indira College, Padwale lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle. The accident left Mukane, Waghmare and Nikam trapped under the soil.
While Mukane died on the spot, others sustained serious injuries. Local residents admitted Waghmare and Nikam to a nearby private hospital. Padwale was admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital.
