The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a very severe cyclonic warning for Maharashtra as Cyclone Ockhi, which is moving across some parts of south India, is expected to land in the state in the next 72 hours.

After causing much damage in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the cyclone is likely to weaken gradually. It is on a north-western cause, drifting towards the coastlines of Gujarat and Maharashtra at the speed of 17 kmph. The stateis expected to receive light to moderate rainfall during the next three days.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that 28 boats along with 321 fishermen have been brought safely to Ratnagiri on Sunday.
