After eight hours of agitated discussions the farmers drafted a letter addressed to the Yamuna Expressway Authority, demanding more money, reservation in educational institutions and setting up of more industries to generate employment in the area.

“We are warning you that if our demands are taken casually, we will be forced to launch an agitation,” they said. The farmers are opposed to “the district’s land being given to the builders.” Instead, it “should be allotted for industrial purposes so that our children may have employment in the future,” the letter said.
