No posters wishing Pawar on his birthday on Friday could be seen at prominent junctions, as it used to be the scene on earlier occasions. With talks of Navi Mumbai strongman Ganesh Naik switching loyalties to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) making rounds, few posters wishing Pawar on his birthday is yet another indication of political developments likely to take shape in the satellite city in coming days.

Earlier, too, the local leadership in Navi Mumbai had timed launch of various welfare schemes with the Pawar's birthday. "It is true that earlier various events were organised on the occasion of Sharad Pawar's birthday. Pawar saheb is in hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery. Keeping apart politics, we have to understand one thing that he is one of the greatest leaders Maharashtra has seen," said a NCP corporator from city not wishing to be named.
