With the intention to spread awareness about the city's historical heritage and its development over the years, NGO Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA) organised four walks around the city. YUVA is a non-profit development organisation committed to helping vulnerable groups access their rights.

The event was organised under YUVA's initiative, ComplexCity, which portrays Mumbai's culture through mediums like film festival, city walks, seminars on urban values, history and culture. The city tours were arranged at — Ambujwadi in Malad, Currey Road to Parel, Koliwada and Adivasipada in Aarey Milk Colony.

Speaking about the initiative, YUVA member Vijay Kharat, said, "We chose these four places in the city because they showcase various small communities, which not many people are aware of. Ambujwadi being more than 25-years-old, its infrastructure still hasn't developed and neither has it grown commercially. Communities in all these places have been facing many development issues."

Adding more information, Sachin Nachnekar, who curated the Ambujwadi city-walk in Malad, said, "We have a community center in the Ambujwadi. The youth had come together to narrate their day-to-day stories during the walk. They spoke about the history as well as the changes in the place and community members."

According to the members, they want to engage youths to come together and discuss urban realities, access to basic services, and their vision for an inclusive city.
