An army officer, from School of Artillery at Devlali Camp near here, had allegedly parked his vehicle near the Upnagar Police Station last night, which led to an altercation between him and police. Later, an FIR was registered at the police station against the officer who was subsequently arrested. But, the matter was resolved and the officer was released, Desai said. However, around 50-60 jawans in civilian clothes came to the police station on Wednesday at around 2 PM. They ransacked the furniture there and damaged some police vehicles parked outside the police station, she said.

The police officer also alleged that the protesters locked her in her room and also beat up some policemen in which three constables sustained injuries and were later admitted to Nashik Civil hospital, Desai said. City Police Commissioner Kulwant Kumar Sarangal and other personnel rushed to the spot. A panchanama of the incident was being conducted, she said. Six army jawans from the School of Artillery at Devlali Camp were detained in connection with the incident, she added.
