Irked over no response from the railway ministry on his demand for separate train service for the Konkan region, Maharashtra revenue minister Narayan Rane today said he would stage an agitation in this regard next month.
"We want a train from Mumbai to Sawantwadi on immediate basis. I have written about it to the railway ministry several times but in vain," Rane told reporters here.
He said he would stage a protest on July 9 at Kankavali and Ratnagiri railway stations by stopping the trains.
The other demands include jobs promised to farmers who have given their land for the Konkan railway project and a Railway terminus at Sawantwadi, he added.
