A 30-year-old woman advertising professional committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her house on Monday. The woman's husband found her body and recovered a suicide note before informing the police. The police said the suicide note mentioned depression as the cause of her suicide, adding that a probe into the case was still on.
The deceased was identified as Bhumika Singh, who was living with her husband Vinay in a rented flat in Vakola, Santacruz, since two years. Both spouses work in a Vakola-based company.
Vinay contacted an ambulance service and informed Bhumika's brother upon finding her body.
"We found a four-page suicide note from her residence, and it appears that she was under depression. That could be a reason for her to take such an extreme step. We have registered an accidental death in the matter and are probing further," said assistant commissioner of police, Vakola division, Ravindra Doiphode.
Another officer said that Bhumika didn't hold anybody responsible.
