Even as Thane and Chandrapur were two of the hottest places in Maharashtra on Wednesday at 41.2 degree Celsius and Bramhapuri was the second highest in India on Thursday at 42.1 degree Celsius, weather experts have predicted that the temperatures across the state will not see much of a change for the next two weeks, however a rise in temperatures is expected after April ends.

KS Hosalikar, deputy director general of meteorology at the regional India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that as per the Extended Range Forecast, which gives an overall view of weather conditions for four weeks the temperature in Maharashtra and even Central India is likely to remain normal and not see much change. "However post two weeks- in around end of April, we can expect the temperatures to rise. In certain places including Vidharbha the temperatures are around 40 to 41 degree Celsius, which is the normal temperatures during this season," he said.

Meanwhile, Mumbai will continue to face high humidity and the rise in discomfort will also increase from Thursday as minimum temperatures too are expected to rise. "While the maximum temperature would be around 34 degree Celsius the minimum will rise to around 26 to 27 degree Celsius, which will make the city even warmer. Currently, there are no weather systems so these hot conditions are likely to continue in Mumbai till next week," said Rajesh Kapadia a private weather forecaster.
