Close vigilance is the priority. As far as the ANC is concerned, we have clarified on how to keep a close watch to avoid any miscreant trying to supply drugs, says Shivdeep Lande
The Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC ) unit of the Mumbai police has beefed up security and vigilance to keep a check on the consumption of illegal substance, drug peddling, and smuggling of narcotics ahead of New Year’s Eve. At a briefing, DCP, anti-narcotics, Shivdeep Lande said, “Close vigilance is the priority. As far as the ANC is concerned, we have clarified on how to keep a close watch to avoid any miscreant trying to supply drugs. The ANC has a limited team and only those cases where the quantity of drugs is commercial and big will be investigated. As a safety measure, all officers have been directed to conduct covert operations in the coming times and we have identified some vulnerable areas in the northern Mumbai, which is vulnerable to such instances.”
“No rave parties are reported within the jurisdiction of the city as most of the parties are organised in the outskirts so the cases are very limited in number. Lastly, we advice all the kids and teens to stay safe and do not consume anything unknown to them,” Lande added.
