Mumbai police launch manhunt for three colleagues of murdered man

The Dadar police have launched manhunt for three people who worked at a construction site as masons and have gone missing after the murder of a 50-year-old person who worked with them at the site.

The deceased Chandar Mukhiya was found dead on the fifth floor of a under construction building at Senapati Bapt Marg in Dadar on Sunday morning. The site is owned by India Bulls and police had earlier registered an accidental death.

It was after the post mortem that it came to light that Mukhiya had been strangulated to death and a case of murder was registered against unidentified people by police.

Mukhiya stayed with his wife and three children in the tower number one where makeshift arrangements for workers and technicians’ family was made for accommodation.

Mukhiya’s wife said “On Saturday night we had dinner together and as per routine he would go to sleep in the tower number two with his friends. Next morning a few other workers informed me of his death.” She added “He did not have any rivalry with anyone and was on good terms with everyone met. People liked him as a person and his murder is shock for everyone here.”

It was during investigation that police found out that three other workers, who worked with the deceased, had not reported to work since his death.

“We are questioning the contractor who had brought the three workers to the job site. They were casual workers so they might have gone anywhere to look for jobs. They are prime suspects in this case and we are looking for them in all possible places where they could go” said a police officer from the Dadar police station.
