Several students from the institute are worried about clearing their previous dues while many others are struggling to pay their fees for the upcoming academic year. As students at the institute still continue their protest for restoration of complete student aid for SC/ST and OBC students, many are now relying on external help to make ends meet.

The TISS students' union recently appealed people to donate money for a few such needy students in a facebook post.

'The struggle of SC/ST/OBC students to sustain and survive is continuing at TISS. The OBC students, who stopped receiving free waiver in 2015 have been going through severe crisis right now. TISS has been asking them to pay full fees' reads the post while appealing people to fund students who 'might have to discontinue their studies' if they do not get aid.

For now, students would have to make a payment for which they don't have money. We are trying to appeal the alumni and others to contribute so that these students can atleast continue their education" said one of the protesting students from the institute.
