A 36-year-old businessman allegedly committed suicide from an under-construction building at Pant Nagar in Ghatkopar, on Monday morning. The deceased said the police, was suffering from an ailment for the past ten years and this primarily was the reason for him to end his life.

The deceased has been identified as Jigar Atul Shah, a resident of Sai Vaibhav building in Ghatkopar (east).

According to the Pant Nagar Police, Shah went to the under-construction Crystal Building, situated at 60 Foot Road, near Vikrant Circle at Ghatkopar (east), and allegedly jumped off from the building at around 9:30 am.

A local spotted Shah lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police. A police team then rushed to the spot and took him to Rajawadi Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police then informed Shah's family about the incident.

"We have registered a case of accidental death in the matter. The primary probe revealed that Shah was suffering from an ailment for the past ten years and due to psychological pressure he took his life. As of now, we do not suspect any foul play in the matter," said an officer from the Pant Nagar Police Station.
