The Khar police have registered a case of rape against a 29-year-old man who forcefully established a physical relationship with a 16-year-old girl after which the victim was found to be pregnant by four months. The accused, identified as Nadeem Mansuri a resident of Khar, is alleged to have lured the victim by giving fake promises to marry her and thereby taking undue advantage of the opportunity.

According to the Khar police, the victim frequently complained about stomach pain since June and was getting necessary medication from Bhabha Hospital for the same. Considering it to be minor colic, the matter was not taken seriously. Last week when the situation worsened, the doctors confirmed that the victim was four-months pregnant.

"When the victim was questioned, she revealed that Mansuri wanted to establish a relationship with her luring her with promises of marriage, though he was already married. The victim, though refused initially, gave in to his demands. In July, Mansuri took the victim to his residence and established a sexual relationship with her, not once but three to four times. A case has been registered against him under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code and section 4,6 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Mansuri has been sent to police custody till Thursday," said a police officer requesting anonymity.
