A number of people try to get to the church through Cement Road that connects the Mount Mary Road with Bandra bandstand. "We have taken a decision to keep the road open this year. However, if some problem occurs, we may have to close it," said Ramchandra Dhawale, senior police inspector of Bandra police station.

"We are happy with the decision. A number of people face problem while going to the Church if that road is closed," said Judith Monteiro who was part of a group that approached the police station along with the letter of the Rector of the Mount Mary's Basilica.
