Unable to visit his sisters in native Jharkhand for Raksha Bandhan on August 15, city-based Ashish Ambasta used the money to spread happiness among women cancer patients in Parel. Ambasta spent around Rs 10,000 to book movie tickets for 80 cancer patients in order to cheer the patients and let them feel happy for the day.

Every year during Rakhsha Bandhan, Ambasta visits his native in Dumka city, Jharkhand, in order to celebrate the festival with his sisters.

On August 14, Ambasta had planned a similar trip, but unfortunately while being about to book a flight for Jharkhand, due to bad weather flights were cancelled and he was unable to go. He later thought of using the money for a social cause. After a discussion with his social worker friend Mehul Doshi, who helps cancer patients' in Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, they came up with the idea.

While most of the cancer patients come from across the country for their treatment they stay at a nearby dharamshala .

"My sisters were unhappy to know that I won't be coming for Rakhsha Bandhan. When I told them that I will be utilising my flight ticket expense on cancer patients, they were happy and also tried to extend a financial help from their end. This initiative gave the patients three hours of happiness and brought smile on their faces," said a proud Ambasta.

He added, "Through this initiative, I wanted to spread a message that if something does not go according to your will, then one should not be disappointed. We should remember that even in worst cases, we should think positive so that something positive is achieved. We don't realise the importance of money. We should utilise our money to get happiness and satisfaction."
