Mumbai, India's financial capital, has been declared as a 'no-flying zone'. In an advisory issued, the Mumbai police announced the ban of all flying objects between March 31 to April 29, 2017.
The city police fears the threat of an aerial attack via use of gliders and drones and hence, has issued a blanket ban on usage of any flying object without prior permission.
To keep a check on any anti-social or terrorist activities in and around the city, drones controlled by remote, Control Aerial Missile or Para-glider, Remote Controlled Micro-light Aircraft are also restricted during the same period. Last year in October too, during the peak of festival season, a similar advisory was issued.
The advisory further mentioned, "any person contravening this order shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code".
