MUMBAI: Two coaches of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express caught fire at the railway workshop in Mumbai Central during routine maintenance job, Western Railway sources said on Wednesday.

However, no one was injured, they said.

The fire broke out inside two coaches of the Shatabdi Express at midnight, but it was extinguished within two hours, Western Railway PRO Bhagwat Dahisarkar said.

The damaged coaches were replaced overnight and the train left for its destination at 9. am on Wednesday, three hours behind schedule, he said.

The Western Railway is probing the cause of the fire, the sources said.
