Hospital dean Dr Avinash Supe said Moin is unconscious and on life support. “He has injuries on the head and chest. His condition is being monitored closely.”

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Tanvir Shaikh who lost his legs after slipping into a gap at Kurla station on January 15 will undergo a revision amputation surgery once his condition is declared ‘stable’ by doctors. Tanvir’s brother-in-law Shaukat Sayyed said he had arranged for seven blood bags on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Shaikh’s haemoglobin level plummeted to 5 grams per decilitre as against the normal range of 13 to 17. Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Ashok Rathod said despite transfusing four bottles of blood, Shaikh’s haemoglobin levels were low. “We’ll assess his condition before taking him for surgery to close his wounds,” he said. During the week, Tanvir is also slated to undergo oxygen therapy for better healing of wounds.
