Mum hit me in front of friends, was afraid of her outburst

Siddhant Ganore, the 21-year-old accused of allegedly killing his mother Deepali, 42, has reportedly told police that Deepali had beaten him up in front of his friends after he had scored low marks in his college examination. This incident, Siddhant told police, had distanced himself from his mother. A police probe also revealed that Deepali had been infuriated with Siddhant after she had learnt that Siddhant had been bunking his coaching classes.

According to police, Siddhant was afraid of his mother and was tired of her repeated coaxing and questioning about his academics.

"On the day of the incident, it was the first time that Siddhant had been unable to control his anger. He had attacked her after she repeatedly threatened him to visit his college faculty to inquire about his results. He had seen the long knife in the kitchen, which he then picked up in a fit of rage to stab his mother. There are also marks of struggle on the victim, which means that she did fight with him on being attacked", said a Vakola police officer.

A senior officer from Vakola police station who interrogated Siddhant revealed, "We have taken him to the spots he visited after the killing and have recreated the entire incident. We took him to his residence where he had killed his mother."

We have completed our investigations and will be filing the charge sheet against him.

On May 23, Siddhant, son of police inspector Dnyaneshwar Ganore had allegedly murdered his mother and had fled the city. He was later held in Jodhpur. Siddhant will be in police custody till June 2.
