In daring daylight shootout, men on three motorbikes fired three rounds from their guns at a builder’s office located near the Bhandup police station on Friday. However, no one was injured in the firing.The incident took place at around 12pm at the office of Swami Samarth Builders & Developers, Shirharihar Residency, Lake Road at Bhandup West. At the time of the incident, two customers were sitting in the office while the builder Vaibhav Kokate, 42 was sitting on the first floor.

Three persons wearing helments came on Passion motorbikes. They firedthree rounds at point blank range towards office and fled the scene. The bullets hit the glass of the office. On hearing the gun shots, the passers-by on the road ran for cover. Later, the Bhandup police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the builder’s office. Nakabandi was conducted in the area to nab the shooters.DCP Sanjay Shintre said, “The builder Kokate received a threatening call from a person on November 2 saying that he needed Rs15 lakh as protection money and three flats from him (Kokate).""However, Kokate ignored the said threatening call," said Shintre, and added that the police got the lead in the firing case and they were working on it to nab the shooters.
