Following the attack on Vilas Shinde, Controller of Examination (CoE), by members of Maharashtra Navanirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS), the Management Council of Mumbai University has scheduled a meeting to discuss the matter on January 6. "They may have their own style of dealing with the matter but no one can be allowed to destroy the sanctity of an educational institution. In order to gain political mileage for the upcoming corporation election, they are doing what is unexpected from a students’ organisation," said an official. The Management Council will also discuss imposing a ban on few members of the MNVS. He also said, "There are various complaints regarding the student wing of MNVS creating ruckus in and outside campus. We may bar few of its leaders to enter the varsity. The decision has been deferred till January 6."
