The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has decided to join the ongoing legal battle over the Bandra fair in order to ensure that the annual event is conducted smoothly. Some Bandra residents had filed a writ petition in the Bombay high court, challenging the fair on the grounds that it caused them inconvenience. President of the MNS’ legal cell Parag Pradhan on Friday told DNA that the party would make an intervention in the case on behalf of pilgrims and legal stall owners who want the fair to continue. The court will hear the matter on September 27.He said that though the petition was against illegal stalls, it sought a stay on the fair itself. “People of different religions and authorised stall owners approached the party,” Pradhan said.
