Officials in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and the Special Planning Authority (SPA) in the area have written to the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking Ltd (BEST) to run air-conditioned buses in BKC. These buses will be running between Bandra station and Kurla.

“We have decided to fund the capital cost for the purchase of these buses. However, we expect the BEST to provide us human infrastructure to run them. We have planned the routes for the buses as per the schedule of most offices situated in BKC and a formal proposal has been sent to BEST,” said MMRDA commissioner Rahul Asthana.

In August, the association of various companies in BKC had met with MMRDA officials to discuss this matter.
