If there are mistakes in SSC, HSC-board textbooks that students have received, schools, teachers and students can refer to Shikshan Sankraman magazine published yearly by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). Corrections are given in it.

In many state board textbooks the mistakes that were found last year have found place this year too.

Parents, teachers and students can get Shikshan Sankraman for a yearly subscription of Rs150. Schools will have to pay Rs200. It's a monthly.

Till last year, Shikshan Sankraman had only government circulars and articles by educationists in it. This year the magazine has included corrections that need to be carried out in textbooks in it.

Najma Kazi, principal, Anjuman-I-Islam's Saif Tyabji Girls' High School, Byculla, said: "Like last year, there are mistakes in textbooks this year too. Urdu textbooks have more mistakes this year. We are now referring to Shikshan Sankraman to correct mistakes. Teachers have been asked to refer to the magazine to correct mistakes."

Fr. Francis Swamy, principal of Xavier's High School, Fort, said: "We subscribe Shikshan Sankraman. It carries corrections of mistakes that appear in textbooks."

Prashant Redij, principal, Hilda Castelilo High school, Kandivli, said: "It is a good magazine. It provides schools all kind of information. This year it has started giving corrections to mistakes that are there in textbooks bringing relief to students and teachers. I feel the state education department should also bring out such a magazine."
