The Mumbai board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) will have its next lottery for 3,449 houses on May 18.

There were 3,28,349 applications for houses in various categories.Board chairman Amarjeet Manhas said an oversight committee had been appointed to ensure the lottery process is smooth and transparent. Manhas said that out of the five lakh forms sold, the board had received 65% applications.
