The Dahisar-DN Nagar Metro-2A corridor has cleared another big hurdle, with the Western Railway and the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation giving the green signal for the elevated corridor to go over the railway tracks at Dahisar."We have got the permission for Metro piers over railway tracks. This was the major hurdle as the civil works on this stretch was not taking off because of this," said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation official. DMRC is executing the project on behalf of state agency Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. The 18.59-km-long transit corridor will be connected with the Dahisar East-Andheri East Metro-7 route that comes from the Western Express Highway and interconnects Metro-2A at Anand Nagar, Dahisar East. For Metro-2A to come from Link Road to Anand Nagar, the alignment passes over tracks near Dahisar station. The average daily ridership for the corridor is expected to be around 10 lakh per day in 2019 followed by 12 lakh passengers a day in 2021 and 16 lakh passengers per day by 2031.
