May 2, 2008, I reached this city of dreams with eyes gleaming with aspirations. When I look at myself today, I realise that not much has changed in these six years except the way I look at the world and how the world looks at me. Mumbai is not just another city, it is not just another metropolitan—it has an emotion that connects with you.Somewhere between being a shy schoolgirl to being a social media freelancer, I have come a long way. Proud and happy, I do not have an answer if asked what brought about this change: An hour of introspection at Marine Drive? Getting into rush hour local trains? Or was it just being in this mesmerising city?As an ambitious mass media aspirant, Mithibai College was my first stepping stone to achieving my dreams. I soon became a member of the Rotaract Club of Mithibai College and voila! There I was talking to celebrities, organising events, and getting a closer look at the industry, which I will soon enter. From being Celebs Coordinator to being the Head of Celebrities in a district Rotaract event, this organisation has given me a lot of exposure. By the time I turned 18, I was already a social media freelancer for several brands. Being an 'influencer' on Twitter, it was not too difficult for me!Mumbai knows the value of dreams and I know that no matter what happens, my aspirations will not get killed in this city. That is the power of Mumbai. It is very rightly said, "You can take a Mumbaikar out of Mumbai, but you can never take Mumbai out of a Mumbaikar."
