The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai police arrested three persons including a female for allegedly selling Mephedrone to school students. A school teacher from Mazgaon had reported about the illegal sale of drugs to ANC after which a special drive was conducted and drugs worth Rs 3,42,000 was seized.

According to ANC officers, Zakir Shaikh,33, Nurnabi Shaikh,40 and Paaki Shaikh,26 were allegedly arrested from the Mazgaon area and were found in possession of 171 grams of banned drug Mephedrone. The school teacher had found the students in school uniforms easily accessing drugs near the educational institutes after which the ANC posted their policemen in civil clothes and arrested three persons red handed while selling drugs at Mulji Rathod road at Mazgaon.

"We were receiving complaints from the persons in Mazgaon after which we decided to crackdown on the accused persons involved in selling drugs near the school premises", said a senior ANC officer.

"After the arrest of Zakir we learnt that the other persons too were selling drugs in an around educational institutes and so we soon laid a trap and arrested two other accused," said the officer.
