Mayor gets a personal assistant for image make over
The official is believed to be roped in for an image makeover of the Mayor. The decision has come post, series of negative publicity.
Mayor Shraddha Jadhav has been appointed an official on special duty (OSD) who will be working as her personal assistant. The official appointed by the Mayor, was an OSD of Manohar Joshi, a former speaker of Lok Sabha.
The official is believed to be roped in for an image makeover of the Mayor. The decision has come post, series of negative publicity.
However, Jadhav claimed that the office needed a new official for better management and to ease out the functioning at the mayor's office.
He will be in charge of supervising all the official communication between mayor and others. "The existing staff was not able to handle communication or meetings properly. Even when they were told to organise and co-ordinate meetings with ward officials they would not do it properly. That's why need for a new official was felt," Mayor said.
