A man fired two rounds from his pistol onboard a local train in Mumbai, after scuffling over a seat.

Twenty-five-year-old Tabrez Jethwa boarded an Ambernath local at Dadar station for Mumbra on Friday when he was hit by two bullets fired by an unidentified man after a heated argument over a place to sit in the train

An eyewitness, Rajesh Mane, said: “They were fighting for the seat. Four youth came out of the train and fired two rounds on him. I realised nobody was helping him and he was drenched in blood.We took him to the Agarwal Hospital, and from there, they referred us to Soin Hospital.

Railway police said, as the train reached Nahul station, the quarrel over the seat got worse and took an ugly turn.

The incident is being investigated.
