A 30-year-old man beheaded his friend after the latter failed to repay the Rs10,000 loan in Boisar on Sunday evening. After beheading his friend, the accused sat beside the body and showed no remorse for the heinous act.
According to police, 26-year-old Kapil Dev Singh, who worked in an industrial unit in Tarapur MIDC, had taken a loan of Rs 10,000 from his roommate Angad Singh, 30, a few months ago. The two had frequent quarrels over the money.
“After Angad asked the victim to repay Rs10,000, Kapil gave answers which angered him and he pulled out a sharp weapon and slashed his neck leading to his death,” said Rajesh Gawli, assistant police inspector, Boisar MIDC police station.
"After the murder, two other friends ran out of their residence and locked the room from outside. Then the two informed us about the beheading. We rushed to the spot and arrested Angad. We have booked him under Section 302(murder) of the Indian Penal Code and will produce him before the Palghar court on Monday,” said Gawli.
“Singh did not show any remorse and was laughing beside the dead body when we opened the door,” said an official.
