Mamta Kulkarni drug links: Cops hint at Bollywood's role
Former Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni has been booked in this regard and the police department has now hinted that her acquaintances in the industry will be questioned. Kulkarni's bank account details will also be checked.
Once again, the name of Bollywood has cropped up in connection with one of the biggest drug seizures in the country. The Thane Crime Branch has busted an International drug cartel and also seized Ephedrine worth Rs2,500 crore from a Solapur-based factory.
Former Bollywood actor Mamta Kulkarni has been booked in this regard and the police department has now hinted that her acquaintances in the industry will be questioned. Kulkarni's bank account details will also be checked.
"We strongly suspect that a few Bollywood personalities are involved. We will go through details of her bank account and properties in the country," said a crime branch official.
"The suspected personalities will be questioned accordingly. Meanwhile, the US DEA has sent us the picture of another accused, Dr Abdullah from Kenya. A red corner notice will be issued against the actor and her husband by the Interpol, so that we can question them in the case," the official added.
