Make a difference for visually impaired

A week after, a woman who was travelling in a local train injured her eye after she was hit by a water balloon, the incidents of eye injuries are frequent during Holi.

Seeing this, the Rotaract club of Dombivli has decided to organise an eye donation camp on Sunday at Dombivli railway station. The club members feel it is the best time to create awareness.
The event called Nazrana-Bring light to the blind, will emphasis on how injuring your eye hurts but what about those who are visually impaired. "There are many instances of people throwing water balloons or pelting stones into running trains injuring commuters. Commuters have complaint about this as they fear of losing their eyes. Like this, they must give a thought about those visually impaired," says Aditya Kamble, member of Rotaract club.

"Donating your eyes, will make someone else's life beautiful. While we are playing with colours on Holi the visually impaired are oblivious to these colours," said Alpana Deshpande, another member."During Holi, the harmful colours could harm the eyes and if people are aware of these effects they will also be able to understand the importance of vision," says Kamble.

These members will be seen at Dombivli railway station on Sunday between 10am to 4pm. In the evening, they will be creating awareness at Phadke Road till 8:30pm.
