PWD minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde announced that toll will be waved for these small vehicles from 10 am to 6 pm so that there will be little congestion on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The landslide near Aadoshi tunnel in Khopoli which claimed three live caused the ongoing maintenance work on Mumbai-Pune Express highway.

On July 21, Eknath Shinde had rubbished the rumours of shutting the highway for four days to complete the repairs.

"One or two lanes close to the mountain pass will remain shut till repair and maintenance work is completed. Rest of the lanes will remain open for commute. The news of the e-way remaining shut is wrong" Shinde said.

But poor management at the site will increase the number of days it will take to finish the maintenance work and the inconvenience of commuters will continue for a while longer, reports Zee 24 Taas.
