At a meeting of the BJP's Mira-Bhayander unit on Monday, leader of opposition Vinod Tawde went ahead to announce himself to be the next home minister of the state. In the same breath, he accused deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar of masterminding the irrigation scam and promised to put him behind bars.

"I am sure that the BJP would sweep the state elections and i would be the next home minister. My first point agenda would be to put Ajit Pawar behind bars and, second, to develop a new commissionerate for Mira Bhayander and Vasai-Virar region", said Tawde.
