Mahadiscom public relations officer (PRO), Nishikant Raut told DNA, “We have a team for this special service. If anyone calls us and asks for a new electricity connection, our team will go to his house and do all the necessary work.”

The Mahadiscom has announced a special toll free number - 18002339119 - for new connections, according to the PRO.

A task team has been set up at the Rasta Peth office of the power utility. It comprises seven employees and a deputy executive engineer.

The consumers who request new connections will get a registration number that will be used for all future communication. A Mahadiscom employee will take Form A-1for registration to the customer’s residence and collect documents required concerning ownership and no-objection certificates. The customer will be given a receipt on the spot.

The customer has to pay for the new connection at the divisional office, said Raut.
