The authorities will require 200 acres only in Maharashtra. The route will be via Mumbai, Thane and Palghar districts. "There is a lot of wrong information that is being spread about land acquisition for the Bullet train project. We realised this at our meeting with the locals of Palghar," said an official from High Speed Rail Corporation, who is looking at this corridor.

At the meeting, the major concerns shown by the villagers was the reimbursement that the locals and farmers would get if their land would be acquired. "We are in touch with the local government officials like Tehsildars and Collectors who are helping us in completing the process of land acquisition. It will take at least two months for us to determine the total number of project affected persons (PAPs)," said another official from HSRC.

The officials from HSRC agreed that the locals are angry as several projects are coming up.
