Shiv Sena Udhhav Thackeray assured people tonight that if his party is voted to power in the Maharashtra assembly polls, it would abolish 'Local Body Tax' (LBT) imposed on municipal corporations, by the outgoing Congress-NCP government.

Addressing a well attended election rally at city's Golf ground tonight, Uddhav criticised the BJP for not waiving loans of hailstorm affected farmers in Maharashtra.

He said that though the BJP dissolved the alliance, he has not fielded candidates against late BJP leader Gopinath Munde's daughter Pankaja Munde from Beed and against her sister Pritam Khade-Munde, who is contesting a by-poll from the Beed Lok Sabha seat.
